Description
This funding opportunity from the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) aims to advance the technical capacity and efficiency of the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Estimation Program. The program is designed to improve the timeliness and quality of national crime and arrest estimates by refining estimation methodologies, enhancing data processing systems, and supporting state Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program work. The awardee will be responsible for maintaining and developing statistical protocols, producing national estimates based on FBI NIBRS data, and delivering a range of technical products and analyses to support law enforcement and statistical agencies.
BJS expects substantial collaboration with the award recipient, as the award will be made as a cooperative agreement. Deliverables include technical reports, automated validation tools, enhanced estimation outputs, data extract files, gap analyses, training materials, and modernized data dissemination tools.
