This opportunity supports the operation of the National Information and Referral Support Center, which aims to enhance the quality and professionalism of information, referral, and assistance (I&R/A) services for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families. The Center will provide national leadership, technical assistance, training, resource development, and peer learning to I&R/A programs. A key focus is supporting the Eldercare Locator and advancing standards, certification, and evidence-informed, culturally responsive practices across the aging and disability networks.
The Center’s activities are intended to strengthen the skills, knowledge, and management capacity of I&R/A programs, improve access to community-based resources, and ensure the workforce is trained to nationally recognized benchmarks. The cooperative agreement requires substantial collaboration with the Administration for Community Living (ACL) throughout the project.
