Summary: Supports professional development for educators of English learners through grants to IHEs and qualified entities in partnership with SEAs or LEAs.
This program provides grants to support pre-service and in-service professional development activities aimed at improving instruction for English learners (ELs). The initiative is designed to help educational personnel—including teachers, paraprofessionals, and school leaders—enhance their qualifications and skills to meet high professional standards, including certification and licensure requirements for working with ELs. Projects may focus on developing and implementing training programs, supporting classroom instruction, and building the capacity of educators to address the needs of ELs through evidence-based strategies.
