Summary: Grants to University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDDs) to fund national training initiatives addressing unmet needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
This grant opportunity supports national training initiatives conducted by University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDDs). It is authorized under Section 151(b) of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (DD Act, 42 U.S.C. 15001). The purpose is to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families have access to community services, individualized supports, and other assistance that promote self-determination, independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion in all aspects of community life.
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) will provide funding to UCEDDs to cover the federal share of costs for training initiatives that address critical and emerging unmet needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families. These initiatives must be culturally competent and aligned with the goals of the DD Act.
Funding is contingent upon the availability of appropriations following the awarding of UCEDD core grant awards.
