This forecasted cooperative agreement from the CDC’s National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) aims to advance national efforts to increase awareness of viral hepatitis prevention, testing, and treatment, especially among populations disproportionately affected by hepatitis B and/or C. The program is structured in two components:
Part A: Community Education, Awareness, and Capacity Building
Focuses on leading and expanding coalitions, delivering technical assistance and training to coalition members, and building capacity for hepatitis B/C testing and linkage to care among high-risk populations.
Part B: Professional Education and Training
Provides free, comprehensive, web-based resources and training (including continuing education credits) for healthcare professionals, and promotes these resources to increase provider competence in hepatitis B/C evaluation and treatment.
Applicants may apply for one or both components by submitting separate applications for each part. The overarching goal is to reduce morbidity and mortality from hepatitis B and C by empowering both communities and providers.
