Description
This opportunity, administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), will fund a single cooperative agreement to deliver targeted technical assistance and capacity-building support for Tribes, Tribal organizations, and Native Hawaiian organizations. The aim is to expand and enhance cultural heritage tourism, increase visitation to tribal destinations, and facilitate coordination among federal agencies, tribal entities, and tourism partners. The selected recipient will serve as a key facilitator, providing tools, strategies, and expertise to support the goals of the NATIVE Act and related grant programs.
The awardee will identify technical assistance needs, deliver support to both grant awardees and non-awardees of the Tribal Tourism Grant Program (TTGP) and Office of Native Hawaiian Relations (ONHR), and coordinate federal efforts to strengthen tribal and Native Hawaiian tourism initiatives. The agreement emphasizes respect for native traditions, collaborative planning, and measurable outcomes in tourism development.
