This program provides planning grants to support federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes, Tribal colleges and universities, Tribal health programs, or Tribal organizations in conducting the preparatory work necessary to develop competitive applications for the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) program. The goal is to expand the reach and impact of the NARCH initiative by enabling more Tribal entities to participate in health research, research capacity building, and infrastructure enhancement.
The planning grant is designed for Tribal entities that do not currently hold a NARCH award. Activities supported may include needs assessments, partnership development, capacity building, and formulation of research questions and strategies for a future NARCH application.
