The Neuroscience Capacity Accelerator for Mental Health (NCAMH) is a capacity-building grant program delivered by the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) and funded by Wellcome. The initiative aims to enhance neuroscience research capacity in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), specifically targeting research on anxiety, depression, and psychosis. NCAMH funds collaborative, multidisciplinary projects in their formative stages, encourages the inclusion of diverse partners (including neuroscientists, clinicians, educators, and patient advocacy groups), and provides a robust professional development program—including in-person and virtual workshops—to foster impactful and sustainable research partnerships. The program’s goal is to accelerate progress in understanding and addressing key mental health challenges and to position teams for future competitive research funding.
