The New York School Bus Incentive Program (NYSBIP) is a major statewide initiative to support the transition of school bus fleets to zero-emission vehicles. Funded by the Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act, the program offers point-of-sale vouchers to help offset the incremental cost of electric and hydrogen fuel cell school buses, as well as associated charging infrastructure. The goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality for students and communities, and facilitate compliance with New York State’s mandate for all school buses to be zero-emission by 2035.
