Funding Amounts: Estimated 2 awards; award size not specified; no cost sharing required.
Summary: Supports investigator-initiated resource-related research projects that benefit high-priority NIAID-funded projects or develop new resources for the NIAID scientific community.
This opportunity invites applications for resource-related research projects (R24) that address the needs of high-priority, currently funded projects within the mission areas of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The proposed resource must provide significant benefit through coordination, support, or the development of new resources for the broader NIAID scientific community. Supported topics include the biology, pathogenesis, and host response to microbes (including HIV), mechanisms of immune function and dysfunction (autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, allergy, asthma, transplant rejection), and translational research to develop vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics for infectious, immune-mediated, and allergic diseases. This mechanism is intended for infrequent use when other NIAID support mechanisms are not appropriate.
