Summary: Supports advanced-stage development and utilization of research infrastructure to advance interdisciplinary aging science through collaborative partnerships.
Key Information: Applicants must have existing research infrastructure; clinical trials are optional; limited submission—see eligibility and contact NIH program staff before applying.
This funding opportunity supports the advanced-stage development and utilization of novel research infrastructure to accelerate interdisciplinary research in aging. The goal is to foster mature, sustainable infrastructure that enables projects addressing key questions in aging science, particularly those requiring collaboration across disciplines. The program is designed for applicants who have already developed research infrastructure (with NIH or non-NIH support) and are ready to expand its scope, impact, and sustainability.
The infrastructure developed must benefit the broader research community, not just the applicant’s own interests, and should result in new knowledge, tools, or tangible scientific products. Applications may propose new interdisciplinary collaborations or significant new directions for existing collaborations.
The program is administered by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), with potential co-funding from the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH). Clinical trials are optional.
