Description
This opportunity supports the discovery and development of biologic-based therapeutics for disorders of the nervous system. The program, part of the NIH Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network for Biologics (BPN-Biologics), provides resources for the advancement of potential therapeutic biotechnology products and biologics—including proteins, antibodies, peptides, gene-based therapies, cell therapies, and emerging modalities such as microbial and microbiome therapies.
Awardees collaborate with NIH-funded consultants and can utilize NIH contract research organizations (CROs) specializing in manufacturing, scaling, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and Phase I clinical testing. Intellectual property rights for developed biotherapeutic candidates remain with the awardee institution, including IP from BPN-Biologics contractors.
