This opportunity supports the development and delivery of innovative, state-of-the-art educational courses focused on skills development in cancer research. The program aims to enhance the training of the biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research workforce by funding courses that address the causes, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of cancer, as well as rehabilitation and continuing care for cancer patients and their families. Courses may be delivered in-person, online, or in a hybrid format, and must be completed within a 12-month period each year of funding.
The program is intended to complement, not duplicate, existing federally funded research training and education programs. It is not a substitute for institutional training grants (e.g., T32) and does not support full-time, year-long participants.
