Key Information: Only U.S.-based organizations may apply; foreign components allowed but not as lead.
This opportunity funds highly integrated, multidisciplinary research teams to address complex, ambitious biomedical questions that cannot be resolved by individual investigators or smaller collaborations. The program is designed to foster synergy, team management, and collective scientific advances within the mission of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). Projects must be cohesive and go beyond the sum of individual efforts, with a team of three to six Program Directors/Principal Investigators (PD/PIs) collaborating on unified, high-impact objectives. Applications focused primarily on resource creation, infrastructure, or technology development are not appropriate.
