Key Information: Applicants do not need to be part of the existing SIREN infrastructure; stroke trials must use NIH StrokeNet instead.

    Description

This opportunity supports multi-center clinical trials focused on neurological emergencies (excluding stroke) to be conducted within the NIH Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN). The SIREN network provides a robust infrastructure for trials in emergency neurology conditions such as status epilepticus, traumatic brain or spinal cord injury, and headache. Successful applicants will work collaboratively with the SIREN Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC) and Data Coordinating Center (DCC), utilizing SIREN hubs and affiliated clinical sites for on-site protocol implementation.

Trials must be hypothesis-driven and pragmatic, with a focus on efficient integration into standard care and streamlined data collection. Applicants do not need to be current SIREN members. Projects that focus on stroke treatment, recovery, or prevention should be submitted to NIH StrokeNet, not SIREN. Both U.S. and non-U.S. entities are eligible to apply.
