Key Information: Primary data collection is not allowed; only secondary analysis of existing datasets is permitted.

    Description

This opportunity invites applications for innovative analyses of existing social science, behavioral, administrative, and neuroimaging data to study the etiology and epidemiology of substance use behaviors (including alcohol, tobacco, prescription, and other drugs), related disorders, prevention of substance use and HIV, and health service utilization. The goal is to maximize the value of previously collected data to address novel research questions, inform prevention and treatment strategies, and improve health outcomes related to substance use and HIV.

Primary data collection is not permitted; all research must use existing datasets. Projects may include analyses of public use, community-based, clinical, or administrative datasets, and are encouraged to employ advanced analytic methods, computational modeling, and approaches from disciplines outside traditional substance use research.
