This funding opportunity supports federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes, Tribal colleges and universities, Tribal health programs, or Tribal organizations in establishing new Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) or enhancing the capacity of existing Tribal IRBs. The goal is to build sustainable research infrastructure, reduce reliance on external IRBs, and promote Tribal sovereignty and oversight in research involving human participants. Activities may include staff recruitment, policy and procedure development, training, acquisition of equipment/software, and development of communication and data management systems.
