    Description

This opportunity is the Phase II component of the NIST Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program for Fiscal Year 2025. It is designed to help small businesses that received a NIST SBIR Phase I award in FY2024 further develop their research into viable, commercially ready products, services, or standards. The program aims to stimulate technological innovation, meet federal R&D needs, and increase private sector commercialization of innovations derived from federal R&D.

Phase II focuses on research and development or prototype development, building on the feasibility work completed in Phase I. Projects should align with NIST’s mission areas, which include advanced manufacturing, materials science, cybersecurity, communications technology, measurement science, and more.
