Summary: Fellowship for Ph.D. students to conduct research with NOAA experts in marine ecosystem dynamics and resource economics.
The NOAA Fisheries – Sea Grant Joint Fellowship provides Ph.D. students with hands-on research experience working alongside NOAA experts on critical issues related to the National Marine Fisheries Service. Fellows are placed at NOAA facilities such as the Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Northwest Fisheries Science Center, and National Marine Mammal Laboratory, where they collaborate with both NOAA and academic scientists. The program supports research in two main areas: population and ecosystem dynamics (emphasizing quantitative methods for assessing marine ecosystems and species) and marine resource economics (focusing on the economics of conservation and management of marine resources). The fellowship is designed to foster the next generation of marine scientists and resource economists and encourages applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds.
