The J-PAL North America Social Policy Research Initiative (SPRI) funds rigorous randomized impact evaluations of innovative social programs and policies across a wide range of sectors in North America. Its goal is to generate actionable evidence to inform policy decisions that reduce poverty and address key social challenges. SPRI welcomes proposals focused on topics such as climate change, education, consumer finance, criminal legal reform, government efficiency, political economy, and housing stability, with a particular interest in research that addresses racial equity. Funding is awarded through a semi-annual Request for Proposals (RFP) process.
