This grant funds the continued operation and development of the Norwegian Centre for CERN-related Research (NorCC), which serves as the national hub for Norwegian participation in CERN’s nuclear and particle physics research. NorCC unites Norwegian research communities active at CERN, coordinates collaboration, manages Norway’s contributions to the operation and maintenance of CERN experiments, and promotes STEM interest and outreach nationally. The centre also supports participation in CERN recruitment programs, strengthens ties between Norwegian research institutions, businesses, and CERN, and aims to increase Norwegian returns in employment and procurement from CERN. The grant is intended to ensure effective governance, knowledge dissemination, and societal relevance of CERN-related research in Norway.
