Description
This grant supports projects that address the eradication and control of feral swine, a destructive invasive species causing extensive agricultural and ecological damage across the U.S. The program funds collaborative efforts focused on landowner assistance for restoration and on-farm trapping, with work coordinated between grant recipients, NRCS, and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). Projects must operate in designated pilot areas within 14 states where feral swine pose the highest threat, and all trapping activities must be conducted under APHIS direction. The program aims to reduce feral swine populations, restore damaged lands, and mitigate threats to agriculture, native ecosystems, and human and animal health.
