This postdoctoral research opportunity is offered by the Center for Bio/Molecular Science and Engineering at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC. The research focuses on the intersection of nanoscience/nanomaterials, cell and molecular biology, and biophysics to develop novel, functional bio/nanomaterials aimed at the controlled modulation of cellular function.

The laboratory employs various nanomaterials such as quantum dots, gold nanoparticles, and liposomes, combined with molecular biology, bioconjugation, protein and peptide engineering, and FRET assays to create functional nanobioconjugates at the biotic/abiotic interface. These are used for cellular labeling, imaging, sensing, and control of cellular function.
