Key Information: Must request support for at least 3 Fellows; only one proposal per institution per cycle; for institutions in eligible EPSCoR jurisdictions.
The NSF EPSCoR Graduate Fellowship Program (EGFP) provides funding to accredited graduate degree-awarding institutions in eligible EPSCoR jurisdictions to recruit and support outstanding graduate students who received an Honorable Mention from the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) within the past three years. The program aims to enhance research capacity and STEM talent development in EPSCoR jurisdictions by enabling these institutions to offer competitive fellowships for graduate study in STEM fields.
Institutions must request support for at least three Fellows, each of whom will receive three years of support (stipend and cost-of-education allowance), usable over a five-year period. The program is designed to attract and retain high-quality graduate students in STEM disciplines aligned with the participating NSF Directorates and Offices.
Fellows may pursue graduate degrees in fields different from those listed in their original GRFP application, provided they are within the eligible disciplines. The program also strongly encourages participation from institutions and individuals underrepresented in STEM.
