Funder: National Science Foundation
Due Dates: April 30, 2025 (conference/travel proposals) | September 30, 2025 (conference/travel proposals)
Funding Amounts: Estimated total program funding: $8,800,000; typical award size and duration vary; conference proposals ≤$50,000 (submit ≥6 months before event), >$50,000 (submit ≥8 months before event)
Summary: Supports research in geometric analysis, including differential geometry, global analysis, geometric methods in mathematical physics, and related fields, with additional opportunities for conference and workshop funding.
Key Information: Conference and travel proposals must be submitted well in advance of the event; see specific timing requirements below.
The National Science Foundation's Geometric Analysis program funds research in differential geometry and its connections to partial differential equations and variational principles, global analysis (including the geometry of complex manifolds and Lie group theory), geometric methods in modern mathematical physics, and the geometry of convex sets, integral geometry, and related topics. The program also supports conferences, workshops, and similar activities in these areas.
Researchers may apply for standard research grants or for support of conferences, workshops, and summer/winter schools. Conference and travel proposals must be submitted through the dedicated solicitation for "Conferences and Workshops in the Mathematical Sciences" and must list Geometric Analysis as a program of interest.
