--- ## Description The Research Training Groups in the Mathematical Sciences (RTG) program aims to strengthen the nation's scientific competitiveness by increasing the number of well-prepared U.S. citizens, nationals, and permanent residents pursuing careers in the mathematical sciences. The program funds U.S. institutions to develop and enhance research training environments that integrate undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and faculty into structured research groups centered on coherent research programs. The focus is on vertically-integrated activities that span all educational levels, fostering collaborative research experiences and professional development. --- ## Due Dates - Full proposals are due annually on the **first Tuesday in June**. - Next deadline: **June 3, 2025** --- ## Funding Amount - **Award size:** Up to $500,000 per year - **Duration:** Typically 3 to 5 years - **Estimated total program funding:** $10,000,000 annually - **Expected number of awards:** 3 to 10 per year --- ## Eligibility - **Eligible Applicants:** Accredited U.S. institutions of higher education (two- and four-year IHEs, including community colleges) acting on behalf of their faculty members. - International branch campuses of U.S. institutions may participate if justified. - **Eligible Participants:** Undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral associates supported with NSF funds must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.
