Summary: Supports the development of broadly applicable instrumentation and technology to enhance ocean science research capabilities.
The Oceanographic Technology and Interdisciplinary Coordination (OTIC) Program, administered by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), funds research and technology development activities that advance ocean science. The program encourages unsolicited proposals for the development of instrumentation and technologies with broad utility across ocean science research. Projects should aim to enhance the observational, experimental, or analytical capabilities of the ocean science research community. In addition to general instrumentation development, the program periodically issues specific calls related to improvements in facilities, communications, and equipment at biological field stations and marine laboratories, as well as collaborations through the National Ocean Partnership Program.
