The Nuclear Safety Emergency Fund provides annual funding to eligible Connecticut municipalities, host communities, UConn, and certain state agencies to enhance the safety and emergency response capabilities at and around the state's nuclear power facilities. The fund supports planning, training, exercises, and the acquisition of specialized response equipment to maintain and improve readiness for radiological emergencies. The program is managed in partnership with the DEMHS Radiological Emergency Preparedness unit, the Strategic Planning and Community Preparedness unit, and the DEEP Radiological Division.
