The Nursing Excellence Fellowship, offered by the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF), provides funding to clinicians dedicated to improving care and outcomes for individuals with bleeding disorders. The fellowship encourages collaborative, multidisciplinary research projects involving nursing and other allied health disciplines (e.g., social work, physical therapy, genetics), and supports projects that may span multiple hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs) or regions. Areas of interest include clinical pathway development, outcome measurement, service utilization, epidemiology, patient/community education, rehabilitation, therapeutic modalities, psychosocial issues, women's health, liver disease, and HIV/AIDS in the context of bleeding disorders. The overarching goal is to expand the knowledge base of nursing science and enhance the quality of care for the bleeding disorders community.
