Description
OCE Education is a U.S. National Science Foundation program in the Division of Ocean Sciences. Its two main areas connect ocean research with education: Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Sites fund universities and marine laboratories to offer summer ocean-research internships, while Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) awards support pre-tenure researchers combining research with educational programs.
The Ocean Education program is also the point of contact for Ocean Technical Education and for Research Experiences for Teachers (RET), Geoscience Veterans Education and Training (GEO-VETS), and REU supplement requests. RET, GEO-VETS, and REU supplements are funded through OCE science programs.
