Summary: Supports postdoctoral research in biodiversity genomics and data science, with opportunities for independent projects and teaching at the Smithsonian Institution.
This postdoctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Data Science Lab supports early-career researchers working at the intersection of biodiversity genomics, bioinformatics, and machine learning. Fellows may design their own research projects or join ongoing initiatives involving digitized museum collections and archives. The program also offers the opportunity to become a certified Carpentries instructor, enabling fellows to teach genomics and data science skills within the Smithsonian community.
Fellows will work closely with Smithsonian researchers and have access to advanced computational resources. Research projects may include, but are not limited to, phylogenomics, population genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, and the development of novel data analysis methods.
