The Maintenance Assistance Program (MAP) administered by the Office of Insular Affairs (OIA), Department of the Interior, provides discretionary grant funding to support, develop, improve, and institutionalize infrastructure maintenance practices in the U.S. territories and freely associated states. The program aims to extend the life of critical infrastructure by strengthening maintenance capacity, supporting essential repairs, and building local expertise. Eligible activities include training, professional certifications, acquisition of specialized equipment or tools, temporary technical expertise, maintenance programs/systems, and essential repairs. New construction and routine operating expenses are not eligible.
