Description
The Opportunity Partnership Grant (OPG), administered by the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development (NJDOL), supports training providers preparing displaced and dislocated workers for employer-driven, in-demand occupations. Training must lead to an industry-valued credential or employer-required licensure and connect participants with full-time, year-round employment. The program’s wage goal is at least $20 per hour, subject to NJDOL’s review of comparable in-demand jobs.
Employer partners help shape curriculum and instruction around specific workforce skill gaps and available positions. Providers collaborate with One-Stop Career Centers (OSCCs) to recruit eligible jobseekers, deliver occupational instruction, facilitate credential attainment, and assist with placement. Funding supports training-related expenses, including instruction, materials, testing, and required credentials. Payment depends on verified enrollment, progress, completion, and employment outcomes.
