Description

This Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action (RIA) aims to drive the circular economy in European industry by supporting projects that develop and demonstrate innovative technologies for optimizing the use of materials, water, and energy. The call targets the recycling and upcycling of industrial side streams and end-of-use waste, with the goal of reducing reliance on imported and non-renewable resources, minimizing environmental impacts, and strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of European manufacturing.

Projects should address the full value chain—from waste collection and sorting to the processing and manufacture of new high-quality materials. Emphasis is placed on streams containing critical or scarce raw materials and those with high carbon or energy footprints. Proposals must demonstrate scalable, economically viable solutions, consider regulatory impacts, and include a robust business case and exploitation strategy for industrialization. Digitalization should be integrated where it adds value.
