--- ## Description This grant supports investigator-initiated research in perioperative musculoskeletal pain management, with an emphasis on opioid-sparing, non-narcotic, multimodal pain control strategies and the evaluation of regional anesthesia techniques for orthopaedic surgical patients. Projects may also include assessment of patient-reported outcomes and functional status, aiming to advance knowledge and improve patient care in musculoskeletal perioperative pain management. --- ## Due Dates - August 11, 2025: Letter of Intent (LOI) deadline - October 14, 2025: Full application deadline --- ## Funding Amount - Total funding available: Up to $92,500 - Typically awarded for a one-year project period --- ## Eligibility - **Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI Requirement:** A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) must serve as PI or co-PI. Collaboration with a PhD and/or MD is encouraged. - If a PhD is PI, a CRNA must serve as co-PI. - The CRNA must meet requirements for Continuous Professional Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). - A PhD serving as PI or co-PI must hold a faculty appointment. - An MD serving as co-PI must have a valid U.S. medical license. - **Research Focus:** Projects must be clinically relevant to orthopaedic perioperative pain management. - **Other:** A PI may submit only one LOI per cycle; restriction does not apply to Co-PI status. --- ## Application Process - **Submission Platform:** Applications are submitted via [proposalCENTRAL](https://proposalcentral.com/). - **Steps:** 1.
