Duke University's Office for Research & Innovation (OR&I) Explore grants are designed to support scholarship in the arts, humanities, and interpretive social sciences that may not align with traditional funding mechanisms. The program offers up to $15,000 for one-year projects in four categories: New Collaborations, Planning, Sustaining, and Completion. The aim is to lower barriers to interdisciplinary collaboration, launch new research, deepen existing partnerships, and bring ongoing scholarly or artistic projects to completion, especially where other funding sources are unavailable. Projects may be early-stage, ongoing, or focused on completion, and should enable substantial progress within a year.
