This funding opportunity supports innovative, high-impact clinical research and clinical trials focused on advancing treatment and rehabilitation for orthopaedic injuries sustained in combat and service-related activities. Projects must address at least one of the FY26 Orthopaedic Research Program (ORP) focus areas, with the goal of optimizing function and maximizing return to duty for injured military personnel. The program is managed by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) under the Defense Health Agency.
Research may include both clinical research (non-interventional or interventional studies not meeting the definition of a clinical trial) and clinical trials, with separate funding levels for each. Applications must be supported by preliminary and/or published data.
