Description
The Hubbard County Coalition of Lake Associations (HCCOLA) Charitable Fund supports charitable and educational programs, projects, and activities that protect, preserve, and enhance area lakes and their surroundings. Working in collaboration with Northwest Minnesota Foundation, the fund encourages cooperation among member lake associations and environmentally sustainable use of lakes and watersheds in Hubbard County and watersheds that impact the county.
Supported work includes aquatic invasive species prevention and early detection, aquatic vegetation surveys, shoreline restoration, water-quality research, and public education. The fund also supports guidance on natural-resource development and preservation, property acquisition for sustainable public use such as conservation easements, and establishment of individual lake association educational and charitable funds.
