Description
This funding opportunity, administered by the National Park Service (NPS) under the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), aims to enhance outdoor recreation, parks, and conservation areas in urban and underserved communities. The program supports the acquisition and development of public outdoor recreation spaces, as well as renovation of existing facilities, with a focus on communities of 25,000 or more that are demonstrably underserved. Projects should foster community engagement, leverage public-private partnerships, and promote environmental resilience and local character. All projects must align with the state’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) and comply with LWCF requirements, including the perpetual protection of funded properties for public outdoor recreation.
