    Description

    The Rural Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking Program (Rural Program) is designed to enhance the safety of rural victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The program funds projects that are uniquely tailored to address and prevent these crimes in rural communities. Supported activities include:

    • Cooperative efforts among law enforcement, prosecutors, victim service providers, and other stakeholders to investigate and prosecute these crimes.
    • Provision of treatment, advocacy, counseling, legal assistance, and other victim services.
    • Programs specifically addressing sexual assault in rural areas.

    The program aims to strengthen community responses and improve access to services for victims in rural settings, where resources and support may be limited.
