The Parkinson’s Foundation Research Centers program provides major, institution-level awards to support innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research teams addressing complex challenges in Parkinson’s disease (PD). This initiative prioritizes team science and proposals that aim to resolve key problems impeding progress in PD research, with a focus on transformative, high-impact projects. The program’s overarching goal is to accelerate discoveries that prevent, control, and ultimately cure Parkinson’s, while also improving care and resources for those affected by the disease.
Research Centers are expected to propose at least three interconnected projects that leverage diverse expertise, foster synergy across disciplines, and pursue outcomes unattainable by individual investigators or labs alone. Both basic and clinical research are supported, and proposals that integrate both are especially encouraged.
