The PAsmart Career and Technical Education Planning Grants fund the design and planning of high-quality computer science (CS) and STEM career and technical education (CTE) programs in Pennsylvania. The grants are intended to facilitate broad, cross-sector partnerships using collective impact approaches to create integrated or stand-alone CS and STEM CTE offerings. The primary goal is to expand access to CS and STEM CTE—particularly for historically underserved students, adult learners, and communities—by designing learning experiences that can lead to dual enrollment, industry-recognized credentials, work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, satellite CTE sites, out-of-school time experiences, and skills bootcamps. The grants also aim to increase the number of certified or highly qualified CS and STEM CTE educators.
Funded activities must align with Pennsylvania’s workforce and economic development needs and the broader PAsmart objective of expanding inclusion in CS, STEM, and CTE.
