The National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging. This program aims to support early-stage physicians and other health professional investigators committed to aging and aging-related diseases. The goal is to advance both research and leadership skills in the applicant’s specialty and the broader field of aging and geriatrics research.
This initiative is designed to recruit early-stage investigators who have already demonstrated success as faculty-level Program Directors/Principal Investigators (PD/PI) through competitively awarded research grants, or who have leveraged faculty-level research support to develop independent research lines. Awardees should show evidence of leadership in clinical or research domains and, through this award, be poised to assume leadership roles that can change theory, practice, and health outcomes for older adults.
Applications are not being accepted at this time; this is a forecasted opportunity to allow potential applicants time to develop collaborations and responsive projects. The NOFO is expected to utilize the NIH K76 activity code.
