Description
The P.E.A.C.E. Grant is administered by the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region to improve third-grade literacy. It supports organizations already operating—or prepared to pilot—innovative summer literacy programs that measurably increase reading and writing performance. The initiative treats reading proficiency by the end of third grade as a critical milestone for academic success, high school graduation, and future opportunity.
The Foundation seeks strong instructional design, meaningful student engagement, clear measures of growth, and measurable outcomes outside the traditional school day. Its goal is to support scalable, sustainable models that strengthen literacy skills, engage families and community partners, and improve students’ academic confidence and long-term success.
