Funder: Pfizer Inc.
Due Dates: June 1, 2026
Funding Amounts: Up to $400,000 USD per project (higher amounts considered case-by-case); max duration 3 years.
Summary: Supports research on pediatric pneumococcal disease epidemiology and serotype distribution in Saudi Arabia to inform prevention strategies.
Key Information: Only organizations in Saudi Arabia are eligible; late applications will not be reviewed.
This opportunity funds research projects that investigate the epidemiology, serotype distribution, genetic evolution, and antibiotic sensitivity of Streptococcus pneumoniae in children under five years old in Saudi Arabia. The grant encourages studies that employ advanced diagnostic and serotyping methods, including retrospective data analysis, use of stored laboratory samples, and/or prospective surveillance. The aim is to address gaps in local knowledge regarding disease burden and serotype diversity following pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) introduction, ultimately to inform future prevention and public health strategies. Projects should have robust statistical analysis plans and a clear pathway for dissemination of results through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
