    Description

    This opportunity, managed by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) under the Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (PRCRP), funds clinical trials designed to significantly advance cancer treatment or management for cancers relevant to military health. Supported projects can range from pilot/phase 0 to phase III trials and must address at least one of the FY26 PRCRP Topic Areas and Strategic Goals, and demonstrate clear relevance to military service members, veterans, and their families.

    Distinctive requirements include:

    • All applications must propose a clinical trial (no preclinical or animal studies allowed).
    • Projects must involve at least two patient advocates.
    • If an IND/IDE (or equivalent) is required, it must be submitted to the relevant regulatory agency by the full application deadline.
    • All research must address a cancer type and strategic goal within the FY26 PRCRP Topic Areas, and cannot focus on melanoma, or cancers of the breast, kidney, lung, pancreas, prostate, or ovary (except rare subtypes specifically listed).
