The Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (PRCRP) funds innovative, high-impact cancer research that addresses the unique needs of military personnel, veterans, their families, and other military beneficiaries. The program specifically supports research in cancer types not covered by other Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) cancer initiatives, emphasizing clinical relevance, military health, and mission readiness. Projects must address at least one congressionally directed cancer topic area and one military health focus area, such as environmental exposures, mission readiness, or gaps in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, quality of life, or survivorship. Multiple award mechanisms are available to support a range of research types, including basic, translational, and clinical research.
