Description
This opportunity, offered by the Department of Defense's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) through the Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP), supports use-inspired basic research projects that build upon preliminary data to advance understanding or validate findings relevant to congressionally directed FY26 PRMRP topic areas and strategic goals. The intent is to fund studies that will have a meaningful impact on research, patient care, or quality of life for diseases or conditions of military relevance, but not to support translational or clinical trial research.
Projects must be hypothesis-driven, include relevant preliminary data, and clearly align with both a specified FY26 PRMRP topic area and a strategic goal. Awards are intended for fundamental research at any stage, from hypothesis testing to expansion of mature data, but must not include clinical trials (noninterventional clinical research is allowed). The program encourages multidisciplinary collaborations and relevance to military health needs.
