Description
The New Jersey Department of Health’s Personal Responsibility Education Program supports statewide implementation of comprehensive sexual health education. Grantees replicate evidence-based programs to prevent teen pregnancy and reduce sexually transmitted infections through sexual risk reduction, including condom use, birth control, and delaying sexual activity.
Projects also focus on three adult preparation subjects drawn from healthy relationships, adolescent development, life skills, and parent-child communication. The department’s Child and Adolescent Health Program oversees funding for the infrastructure, health education, and related services needed to implement this work across New Jersey.
