Description
The fellowship provides qualified scholars with the opportunity to conduct advanced, onsite research at the Library of Congress, focusing on the unparalleled collections of the Geography & Map Division. The program is designed to foster scholarly study in cartography, geography, GIS, digital humanities, and related disciplines. Fellows are expected to make substantial use of the Division’s resources—over 6 million maps, 100,000 atlases, 5,000 globes, and extensive digital geospatial data—while collaborating with expert staff. The residency aims to enrich research and promote the intellectual community at the Kluge Center in Washington, DC.
